12 – Agility of mind

Municipal policy is regularly reviewed at the A&W community council meetings. Helped by specialist working groups, this council has become a respected opponent, or an agile negotiator if that promises better results. The argument that a proposal is in line with ‘accepted’ policy (applied appropriately or inappropriately city-hall officials) is given short shrift with supreme agility of mind.

Except in the case of the so-called ‘takkenactie’. Here, it seems the community council has resorted to just such an argument. Scheveningse Bosjes was at some point ‘lumbered’ with the title ‘forest’ and that is why felled wood may not be removed.

That’s accepted policy and that’s the end of it.
