‘Chipknip’ Parking to End

Starting on 1 January 2015 you will no longer be able to pay with a ‘Chipknip’ anywhere in the Netherlands. The Municipality of The Hague will remove the Chipknip as a payment option on the ticket dispensers starting in September.

As of 1 January 2015 motorists will only be able to pay for on-street parking using a PIN or credit card or with their mobile phone.

Work will be carried out on The Hague’s parking metres from September through December 2014 at times when paid parking is not in effect.

The Chipknip will be phased out as a method of payment in the Netherlands. As of 1 January 2015 you will no longer be able to pay with the Chipknip anywhere in the Netherlands. Make sure to use up your balance before then.
