New date: Saturday September 19 – World Cleanup Day of the Plastic Soup Foundation.
De Landelijke Opschoondag [The National Cleanup Day] will be moved to the autumn this year. The organization previously announced that it would cancel the event, which was scheduled for Saturday March 21, in connection with all developments surrounding the coronavirus. On Saturday 19 September, which is also World Cleanup Day, the whole of the Netherlands will still be called on to go outside and clean up litter together.
Tidy up into autumn
De Landelijke Opschoondag is the time for residents, entrepreneurs, associations, sports clubs and schools to take action together and make their living environment 100% litter-free. “It is a day that brings people together,” said Helene van Zutphen, director of initiator NederlandSchoon. “Because meeting is not recommended by RIVM for the time being, we have decided to move the National Cleanup Day and to coincide appropriately with World Cleanup Day on Saturday 19 September, a special and important initiative of the Plastic Soup Foundation. After all, we share the same goal: to make our environment free of litter. Let’s go into autumn together this year. ”
Nothing changes except the date. Residents, entrepreneurs, associations, sports clubs, schools and other organizations are now called in the autumn to collect litter together.
