For the eighth year, GroenLinks is organizing a competition for the greenest balcony, roof terrace or facade garden in The Hague. The top three entries win coupons for free plants.
With this search for greenery in The Hague, the party draws attention to the importance of greenery in our petrified city. Group chairman Arjen Kapteijns, also chairman of the jury:
“In the city council we are committed to a green city with enough trees, but residents of The Hague also play an indispensable role for more greenery in The Hague. Our green balconies, façade gardens or roof terraces form a larger whole, with which we are increasingly counteract heat and make the city more livable for birds and insects. “
Normally, the party already receives a lot of entries, but Kapteijns expects an extra busy year: “In this corona period, people have more time to work with plants at home. People also appreciate their garden or balcony even more. That is why we expect an extra green spring and more work for our jury. “
