Friday, November 22, 2019 in the theater room of the “Vreedehuis” in The Hague.
Concert begins at 8 pm (room open at 7:30 pm)
Hildegard Mandos is one of the first Dutch Jazz / Bossa Nova singers to accompany themselves on double bass, guitar or electric bass. With her colorful voice — both powerful and soft at the same time — and her lively playing, she sings beautiful (multilingual) songs with uplifting texts written by herself and others, in which no soul remains untouched.
It will be a special listening concert, anticipating her first CD / album, Hildegard will play her own compositions during this (try-out) concert.
Texts by Hildegard and others are in English, French, Portuguese and Dutch with elements from Jazz, Bossa Nova, Soul, Afro and South American music.
Hildegard performs together with her “music” friends and top musicians:
Pieter Bast is a melodic drummer who has found a perfect balance between rhythmic freedom and swing in a subtle way, stimulating and varied. As a percussion teacher, Pieter is affiliated with the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels in Belgium and the Factorium Podiumkunsten in Tilburg.
Jina Sumedi is a pianist, but also plays accordion, ukulele and melodica. With her energetic and cheerful appearance, Jina is a much sought after musician with a very broad musical background and extensive life experience, which is reflected in her naturally flowing game. Jina is also active as an arranger / composer / producer.
