Vacancy: Manager (m/f) Louis Couperus Museum – 1 September

On 1 September 2017 the Louis Couperus Museum will have a vacancy: the museum is looking for a new manager for about 20 hours per week. Knowledge of the Dutch language is required.
Activities: coordinating and carrying out the daily activities of the museum, in cooperation with the volunteers and under supervision of the Executive Board.

You are responsible for the daily course of events in the Louis Couperus Museum. You work under the supervision and in close cooperation with the chairman of the executive board to whom you report. Every 3 months you take part in the board meetings.
Some of your responsibilities are: the technical state of the museum rooms (climate, lighting, alarm, etc.); the administration of the museum (bookkeeping, mail and email, telephone, agenda, etc.); to give guidance to ca. 24 volunteers; p.r. activities (flyers, website, social media, advertisement, newsletters, Museum Night, Uitmarkt, etc.); the little museum shop (stock and orders, bills); assisting in the organisation of new exhibitions;  organizing lectures and receptions at the museum; representing the museum at consultative bodies such as Haags Museum Platform, De Nederlandse Museumvereniging, etc.; and finally all other duties that require your help and insight.

Experience in leading, organisation and/or bookkeeping of a museum (or similar cultural institution) is a must.
You are good at working with computers and you enjoy working in a team.
You have some knowledge of and are interested in the work of Louis Couperus.
You live in or near The Hague.

The Louis Couperus Museum receives no subsidy and is financed by donations and occasional sponsoring.
As its manager you will receive the gross salary of € 782,70 per month.
